FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A serial bank robber was sentenced to 13 years in prison after admitting he committed a string of bank heists across South Florida. Steven Gass pleaded guilty in May to six of those bank robberies and acknowledged he was responsible for the other 15 heists. During the 22-month crime spree, he made off with nearly $137,000 in cash. Gass apologized Friday to the bank tellers and his family, saying he knows no words could mitigate what he had done.
